This whole thing got started when the owner of the blog, thepeoplesview.net, aka Deaniac83, criticized Paul Krugman's immature off the cuff analysis of the debt ceiling deal in the article titled, Paul Krugman is a Political Rookie. Or How Barack Obama Left John Boehner Holding the Teabag, Again., where Deaniac83 pretty much made the Nobel prize winning Economist regret he wrote the article The President Surrenders a day before all the facts were out.
An OFA director from New Mexico State, Ray Sandoval read the article by Deaniac83 and sent an email message to supporters encouraging everyone to take 5 minutes to read it and specifically wrote:
"I know many of you have raised frustrations, but please, I implore you, please take 5 minutes and read the article below. It does a great job of explaining the Debt Ceiling deal,"
Huffington Post as usual reports the sharing of a legitimate and excellent analysis with a sensationalized article titled:
Obama Campaign Staffer Sends Out Email Bashing Paul Krugman And The 'Firebagger Lefty Blogosphere'
The Queen of the Firebaggers Jane Hamsher at FDL reports with another how dare you criticize and try to correct Paul Krugman's ignorance rant titled:
OFA Director Attacks “Firebagger Lefty Blogosphere,” says “Paul Krugman is a Political Rookie”
I am not about to give FDL a click so I won't link to the article by Jane Hemshere but will share two paragraphs from her article that is very telling of how far removed she is from the political reality as she tries to claim there is a pattern by the Democratic Party to silence her irrelevant voice from foaming at the mouth:
The California Democratic Party just refused to renew the charter of the largest caucus in the party, the Progressive [Fauxgressive] Caucus, after they passed a resolution calling for a primary challenge to Obama in 2012. So this isn’t an isolated incident. It’s clear that the the Democrats want to marginalize liberals in 2012 for basically promoting the same values and saying the same things we’ve said during every presidency since time immemorial.
But if this is a brilliant political strategy on the part of OFA, someone is going to have to explain it to me. I know the goal is to attract the much-prized Independent for 2012. But who do they think is keeping Obama’s poll numbers afloat?
Emphasis mine
Sounds like the revolting Miz Jane as usual is lying about how President Obama's numbers are afloat claiming indirectly it is because of firebaggers, a claim that is utter bullshit because we know what fauxgressives like her have been doing to drag down this President since his inauguration. May be what she needs to see is this graph with 72% liberal approval of the President, 30 points higher than his overall approval rating of 42% and learn that Liberals unlike her have kept the President afloat. Here is what Frank Newport, editor in chief of the Gallup Poll said about the unprecedented nature of Obama polling:
"Looking at history, particularly Clinton and Reagan, it is somewhat surprising that [Obama] has never yet fallen into the 30 percent range in our approval rating," Newport said. "And yet both Reagan and Clinton, in their first terms when the economy was perceived as bad ... both fell into the 30s."
Newport noted, "Satisfaction with the way things are going is ... correlated with economic perceptions fairly strongly." At the same time, Obama "is overperforming. Based on where every president has been, his approval rating now is higher than we would predict it to be based on" how satisfied American adults say they are.
Another article by Greg Sargent at the Plum Line titled, Does Obama camp see upside in pissing off the left? notes:
this story does provide a window into what I think is a real problem — the nature of the Obama team’s frustration with liberal critics. The problem is that some on the Obama team don’t reckon with what it is lefty critics are actually saying. Obama advisers get angry when they think liberal critics are refusing to accept the limits placed on him by current political realities, and when lefties presume at the outset that Obama will inevitably sell out. That’s reflected in Sandoval’s angry email and in other periodic explosions of anger at the “professional left.”
I would like to say I am an unapologetic Obama supporter and I am not frustrated with this so called liberal critics because they don't exemplify what true liberalism is all about and especially on how to make progress as such in my opinion they are just attention seeking self promoting caricatures.
Considering what has been an out of control coordinated attack on Ray Sandoval who happened to be an OFA Director, which by the way is a typical tactic these same people will go through to kneecap this Administration by association, the email was sent out to OFA members/supports so that folks would be informed about the details to the debt ceiling deal but note that no one is discussing the merit of the article by Deaniac83.
However, the Obama campaign is now going on the record distancing itself from the email and according to what a campaign spokesman, Katie Hogan said, “The views expressed in this email do not represent the views of the campaign”.
And then, Paul Krugman yesterday writes, throwing this meme that the President is Hippie Punching the fauxgressives showing again why the left is nothing but jealous of the influence the Tea Party has in the Republican Party as they want to act and think like teabaggers and how they are lashed upon:
I would say this: on one side you have the GOP, which responds to completely crazed Tea Party demands by doing all it can to assure the hard right that it’s on its side. On the other, you have the Democratic establishment or at least part thereof, which responds to complaints from its own base that it’s going too easy on the crazies by lashing out at the base, with a bit of bearded-professor bashing on the side.
Save me the hypocrisy Krugman, you ain't the "base".
Do we hear of any mention of why Krugman is called a political rookie or about the substance and analysis on the debt deal in that email? Hell no.
Does Fauxgressives Keith Olbermann even try to address how horribly wrong Krugman's "The President Surrenders" analysis was? Hell no but he calls Ray Sandoval, New Mexico's OFA director, the worst Persons in the world for sharing material that gutted out Krugman's incompetence and rookie analysis. Watch it for yourself how substance-less the smear has gone viral:
I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of being sick and tired about these so called self adoring critics like Krugman, Hamsher, Greenwald, Green, Cenk, Huffington, etc, that are always the holier than thou critics who just don't understand being progressive is all about making progress. In fact, I will officially call on these people as Fauxgressives and let me explain what Fauxgressives stand for:
